We represent some of the finest insurance companies in the industry such as The Chubb Group, The Hartford, Travelers, MetLife, Berkley One, MAPFRE and Progressive, as well as a vast array of companies specializing in life and health products and hard to place property and casualty risks.
History
The Benson/Quinlan Insurance Agency was founded in 1926 by John Benson and known as “The Benson Agency”. The office served as both an Insurance Agency and a Real Estate Agency until 1950 when it became an Insurance Agency only operation. In 1948 John Benson hired Robert “Bob”Quinlan, a young Yale graduate and World War II veteran, to help with the growing insurance business. In 1950 Bob Quinlan was called back into the service for the Korean War and, upon his return in 1952, was immediately reunited with the Benson Agency. Shortly thereafter John Benson retired and Bob Quinlan purchased the Agency and worked there until his death in 2003.
